SZA è online con il video ufficiale di “The Weekend”, il nuovo singolo pubblicato il 26 settembre ed estratto dal suo primo album in studio “CTRL” (9 giugno 2017 – Top Dawg Entertainment / RCA Records).

Il brano è stato scritto da SZA insieme a Cody Fayne con la produzione di ThankGod4Cody e contiene dei samples tratti da “Set the Mood (Prelude)/Until the End of Time” di Justin Timberlake (2006).

Il video in cui vediamo SZA mentre canta e danza da sola in alto su un balcone, in un parcheggio e all’interno di un edificio vuoto, sotto la direzione della cantante R&B Solange, ha abbondandemente superato nella prima settimana online i tre milioni di visualizzazioni solo sul canale YouTube.

La clip di “The Weekend” con la sua carica si sensualità e sessualità è sicuramente un altro trionfo da aggiungere all’eccellente anno di SZA.

L’artista statunitense chiude così questo 2017 rafforzando la sua autorevolezza per i Grammy del 2018, dove è stata nominata come Miglior Nuovo Artista e Miglior R&B Performance.
